- Flit - flitter your sound with mechanical stutter
- Flit Disc - add an extra metal disc to the Flit pedal
- Itch - itch your sound adding a lofi texture
- Push - push your sound to play your effects in a new way
That's either weird or dumb...but it works.
While talking with an old, high school friend, Walz described his pedal ideas as aiming for this response.
That improvised quip seemed to really capture the attitude of what Walz was aiming for with some of the pedal designs.
There was a different way to apply creativity and that could change how one interacts with their musical instruments and devices.
It will not be a fundamental change but subtle and maybe strange or unorthadox.
That is the lane that Walz Effects rides.
Getting Started
In 2023, Kyle Walz was getting ready to retire from public school teaching.
He saw a video about Gamechanger Audio and some of their products.
This got his imagination going and rekindled some childhood thoughts about electronics.
Moving into 2024, he went to work putting together an idea with the goal of having a working prototype by May.
It's March, 2024 and there are two different design in working prototype form.
The website takes is first shape on 22 March, 2024.
Who Is Kyle?
Kyle Walz is a songwriter and performer.
He has spent almost 30 years teaching in public school in Missouri, USA.
For seventeen of those years Kyle worked in gifted education and eleven of those years he led the program.
A common idea in those classes was to hone your creativity and apply a combination of creativity and intellect.
Moving towards retirement in 2024, that sentiment and his musical background merged.
Thinking back to being a kid where he would stay up late and make gadgets and circuits, he decided to let all those sources of inspiration collide to present a new life path.
The last layer of motivation is his dad, who passed away in 2022.
The products Kyle puts together is part of way of honoring his dad with the family name and using some tools his dad left behind.
One brother even helped Kyle out with some more tools to support.
